In August of 2011, I set out to become a better writer. I figured that to be a better writer I needed to write. So I chose to write a story a week.
Most weeks I don’t like what I write, but every once in a while I am proud of something in my stories. It may be the heart of the story or a single sentence, but in each of these I have found something that makes me think, “Maybe I can do this writing thing.”
This thought eventually became a unwavering belief. (Okay, maybe a little wavering) In January of 2013 I quit my job, sold my house, and am taking a year to do everything I can to write a great piece of fiction and get published.
The Stone (Sometimes we all need to be reminded)
The Error (For all the writer’s out there. The greatest encourager you can ever have is yourself.)
The Librarian (For Yami & all those who have wondered why they are going through what they are going through)
The Gift (I love a great ending)
The Hallway (This one is for you Mr. Asimov)
Weeds (A wise man once said that the purpose of writing is to entertain and instruct. I’d like to think this one does both.)
The 4th of November (No one seems to get the heart of this one, but I don’t care. I love it.)
The Second (I am a romantic at heart)
The Choice (You may not, but I thought it was funny)
Dear Addiction (Someday I hope to write something that will go beyond entertainment and help change a life.)
